Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

CountingDate (countingdate.com) is a free online date and time calculator tool operated by Francisco Ruiz Lozano, based in Spain. Contact: franruizlozano31@gmail.com

2. What data we collect

CountingDate does not collect, store, or process personal data from users. Specifically:

  • All calculations (dates, ages, countdowns) are performed entirely in your browser. No input data is sent to our servers.
  • We do not use contact forms, user accounts, or registration systems.
  • We do not display advertising or use advertising networks.
  • We do not sell data to third parties under any circumstances.
  • We do not embed social media widgets that collect data.

3. Cookies and local storage

CountingDate stores a single item in your browser's localStorage named countingdate_cookie_consent. This stores your response to the cookie consent banner ("accepted" or "rejected") so we don't show it again on every visit. This data never leaves your device.

If you accept analytics cookies, we may load Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data (pages visited, time on site). No personally identifiable information is collected. See our full Cookie Policy for details.

4. Analytics (Google Analytics)

If you consent to analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use CountingDate. The data collected includes:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Country (not city or precise location)
  • Referring website or search query

All data is anonymized. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. We never combine analytics data with any personally identifiable information. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Hosting and infrastructure

CountingDate is a static website. Our site may be hosted on services such as Vercel, Netlify, or GitHub Pages. These providers may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) as part of their infrastructure operations. This is processed under their own privacy policies, not ours.

6. Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access — You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to erasure — You can request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to object — You can object to processing of your personal data.
  • Right to withdraw consent — You can withdraw cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site.

Since CountingDate does not collect personal data, most of these rights have no practical application. However, if you have concerns, contact us at franruizlozano31@gmail.com.

7. Children's privacy

CountingDate is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
